Stretch Fabric + Colour

Fabric research is an area of a project I really love doing. However, there was the problem that I may not find the perfect colours to represent David Hockey's Artwork and expression. I concentrated on stretch fabrics first as these are more likely going to be used for the base layers which I want to be bright. These fabric were ordered from Tia Knight, which had a large variety of colours in many stretch and woven fabrics. I decided to get as many as possible just to see what colour suited it best and I wilted it down to this select few, with some being just a little off the original colour. For example the petrol blue Airtex Mesh for me wasn't muted enough, but still brings a unity to the palate I have chosen. Some of the colours were spot on, like the Salmon colour at the front of the stack is a major choice, due to it being similar to the building in "A Bigger Splash" and a colour I really wanted to find. Obviously I need to further my investigation into fabric choice but once you start, you cant stop!
