My Own Fabric Choices

From Truro Fabrics, I got a black crepe polyester for £12.99 a metre, as it looked more expensive and thicker than the £6.99. However, it does have less texture but maybe this will help with the construct of it. I chose this fabric due to the quality of drape it will give, as I don't want my blazer to be very structured and chose black, as I don't have a lot of jackets that are neutral and thought it would fit well into my wardrobe. In addition, I brought some 'Mother of Pearl' buttons, larger ones for the fastening of the blazer and smaller ones for the sleeve. I thought this brought a sophistication to the piece and gave a 80s/90s theme I was going for. I found my lining from 'The Lining Company' and is a Viscose Rayon Twill in Black to keep the classic, look of the blazer. I may change my mind on this and go for a different colour but right now it'll all be black.

I need to start pattern cutting and toiling out my ideas for this blazer, as I've never made one before and want to practice so I know it'll be my best work when its finished.
