The Blazer in Street Style

The blazer has always been a stable piece in many peoples wardrobes, as its formal but can be casual, depending on what you wear with it. Street Style is fashion that is considered to not have emerged from the studio. Its generally associated with 'youth culture' and is most often seen in city/urban environment. Its all about individuality and how one person creates an outfit compared to another.

I feel that the blazer has been something can be can customised and become personal to the person wearing it. Even wearing a simple outfit, like the picture to the left, of a white shirt, black skinnys and slip on shoes makes the look more sophisticated having that blazer with it. It looks effortless and comfortable for the wearer. A recent trend is having suits or blazers made from plush fabrics, such as velvet, which brings more luxury to this piece and an edge (as seen in the picture to the right). Paired with a taper trouser or same co ord trouser and plain white tee, makes a casual, effortless look again.

Even playing with proportions of the outfit makes a difference. Having a midi shirt, with cropped trousers and high boots makes this outfit (to the left) have a new degree of sophistication and works well in this situation. However I feel that the blazers doesn't strike me as much as the other outfits I have looked at.

Overall, the silhouette of the blazer is very simple in street style, its the way it presented with other clothes or the type of fabric its made off that changes it original values.
