CADs
I love doing CADs. Its something I think I am strong at but I knew there is areas I can still develop in, like making it more realistic. From this section I took away that I need to be more organised with my CADs, as this is possibly where I get most frustrated with (trying to get the right paths, etc). It was simple to put the colour, sketch, shading, trimmings all in different layers for CAD and would be better for industry to understand as well. To the left is a basic example of CADS that I have done, using pathfinder, shaper builder tool and the pen tool. This way looks more flat and cartoonish which I don't mind. At the top is the first time I've tried adding shading and realisticness to the garment. This involved tracing shades I found in this jacket I traced around with my Wacom Tablet. I only did half the shading to show the CAD without to see what it was like. I really like how effective this is and really brings this 3D effect I love. I hope to incorporate this into the project I am doing now, as it'll bring out what the fabric is like and be more real.
